Amber Amplified:
Pride in Rhythm

To close out Pride Month, I hosted “Pride in Rhythm”, Amber Agave’s first Pride event. I brought my two queer friends, DJ partynimari and DJ Valencia to spin some tunes at the cafe. Alongside the music, I set up a scrapbook making station for people to create anything their heart desired that day. Lastly, my team and I created a limited edition Pride drink, “Be Gay, Dew Crime”,
where 25% of the proceeds were donated to The Trevor Project.

This event was important for me and my community especially during a time where the administration defunded the national suicide hotline for young LGBTQ+ folks. It was a beautiful event seeing people vibe to the music and support by buying our limited drink—a true testament of our community’s power.
